SOLE MANUFACTURER

Family-owned in Wayne, Oklahoma. Made for distinctive homes.

01 / THE MATERIAL

Real wood.
Nothing to imitate.

EnduraShake begins with tropical hardwood—and a home that deserves the real thing.

Each shake is cut from one of our hardwood species from Suriname, South America. Its dense grain, depth, and natural variation give your roof an individual character that a manufactured pattern cannot reproduce.

Our production process is central to EnduraShake’s weather-resistant performance. The result is authentic wood roofing, with independent testing behind its beauty.

NATURAL BY DESIGN

Character that
belongs to your home.

Not molded composite. Not stamped steel. Real tropical hardwood, with the warmth and individuality you chose wood for in the first place.

  • Distinct grain and color in every piece.
  • Natural resistance to decay, fungus, and termites.
  • A considered option when replacing cedar shakes.

02 / THE PERFORMANCE

Call (405) 449-3376

Is EnduraShake real wood?

Yes. Every shake is cut from natural tropical hardwood sourced from Suriname, South America. It is not a synthetic composite or a metal imitation.

Will it lower my insurance premium?

A Class IV impact rating may qualify for a discount. Eligibility depends on your insurer, location, roof assembly, and policy. Ask your agent to review current product documentation before making a decision.

How does it compare to a cedar shake roof?

Both offer natural grain and character. EnduraShake uses dense tropical hardwood and carries a UL 2218 Class IV impact rating. Compare the specific products, installation requirements, care instructions, and test reports with your architect.

What size are the shakes?

Permastrong lists the shakes as 5/16 inch thick × 4 inches wide × 20 inches long, with a weight of approximately 500 pounds per roofing square (100 square feet). Confirm current specifications and structural suitability for your project.

What does an EnduraShake roof cost?

Pricing depends on roof size, complexity, material quantities, and installation. Contact Permastrong with your plans or speak with your architect or builder for a project-specific estimate.

Can I use it on a historic home?

Natural wood may help preserve the original architectural intent. Historic district, HOA, fire-code, and building requirements vary. Have your architect and local authority review the proposed roof assembly before approval.
